Choosing a Poker Training Site

Online poker training sites have exploded over the last few years. What was once a cottage industry of a few affiliate sites with maybe a handful of videos has expanded into a highly competitive arena, with dozens of sites battling it out for subscribers. With so many schools out there, how do you choose the best training site for you?

First, you need to make sure that the site that you are reviewing is a true college training site. Many of the new colleges are using these sites to launch their own online poker training programs, just like the old school businesses before them. This is not a great thing for the player, because the old training sites have a retention rate of about 30% or more.

The training sites that have exploded the most are not the fly-by-night outfits out there. They are the ones that have established relationships with the old school businesses and obtained high levels of player training and coaching. This relationship gave the sites a great advantage in the battle for new customers, and now they are eating up all of the business that used to go to the old training sites.

You can now find the training sites by looking at college websites, since they all offer online poker training. You can often find the top training sites by looking at the most popular college websites, because those are often very informative and often show the whole scope of the online poker training scene.

The old school training sites are still there, but with so many new schools popping up every term, the old schools are not able to retain their students as easily as they once did. In order to convince students to stick around, old school trainers and websites are offering a heavily reduced service with attractive and attractive abandon.

Many of the students that now benefit from online poker training sites are not traditional students. Instead, they are aspiring professional poker players who feel the pressure of their poker careers as they push their learning and earning towards the next level. Other students are in between, wanting to learn to play but not sure where to start. Through online poker training sites, they can now hone their poker skills and play against some of the best poker players in the world.

What used to be a situation where you could buy a book and have the knowledge instantly, has now become a situation where you can read a book and have the training started for you. This is especially true of the online poker training sites. Take Underdog Poker for example. This is a well known poker training site that has produced a series of ebooks called Small Stakes Hold Em master guide. These are a great book to read if you have no idea how to play poker online or offline. You can start off playing poker online on sites like Poker Stars, Poker.com or fulltiltpoker.com.

These books will teach you what you need to know to win at poker. You can learn how to read players to know when to bluff, how to build your chip stack to the point where you can take down huge pots, how to play soft or hard against a variety of players, and a lot more. You will also find a great deal of advice on how to improve your game and a lot of different strategies that you can try.

The advice is rather unique, and a lot of times the author Tenayses (David☠?)ves (a amazing story!) explains what worked and what didn’t work for him, and why. It’s interesting to read about a typical day in the life of a professional poker player, especially when you’re still learning the ropes and learning poker as a business!

There are some real gems in here, and I highly recommend that you read some of these eBook and watch the video tutorials too (I think he got tired of writing about his own play! 🙂 )

Today, I learned about one of my biggest sources of online poker winnings. Previously, I would go to the tables and bust a lot of players, losing my whole bankroll in about 3 hours. This got me wondering whether I should risk it all again. The thought of losing got worse every time. However, the thought of increasing my bankroll kept me going. Today, I’d like to talk about a method that got me out of a lot of tight spots and into some huge wins. I’m sure you have probably heard of the expression “flopping the royal flush”? Well, it’s not just me that’s saying it, someone else said it too! The first person to say it was my good friend Bryan Micon. He’s also a poker champ and played in some of the biggest games and tournaments.

He told me that at certain times of the game, you have to get aggressive. Many people are waiting for premium hands and will be passive otherwise. Micon said sometimes raising and sometimes folding is the way to go.
